Piercing  Aftercare

Applies to all "ring" piercing such as navel, nipples, nose, eyebrow, ear, or genitals.

While healing, your piercing will give off a scabby build-up of dry secretions that will form a natural crust on the jewelry. This will require care that should be practiced every morning and evening for the next 4 weeks.

You will find that the easiest place to care for your piercing is in_the shower, but regardless, always wash hands with soap and water before touching the area. Keeping the piercing clean is the most important way to prevent infection. Do NOT turn, touch, or play with the jewelry unless you are cleaning it!

Use a non-perfumed soap such as Dial, Ivory, or Neutragena with water and soften the scabs. With your fingertips, clean the crust off the ring AWAY from the piercing holes. Rotate the ring 5-6 times to clean the part that is inside the body. Rinse thoroughly, pat dry, and apply Witch Hazel. Rotate the ring 5-6 more times to ensure the Witch Hazel is is worked through the piercing. NO rubbing alcohol, peroxide, neosporin, polysporin, or triple antibiotics.

Keep your piercing free of chemicals such as perfume, hair spray or gels, make-up, etc. Avoid any rubbing that might happen against clothing or bedding, keep pillowcases and sheets clean.

If you experience any INCREASED redness, excessive tenderness, heat or swelling, contact us or your medical professional.

Rinse your mouth with Listerine after you put anything in your mouth other than water, for 3 to 4 weeks.  It is also very important to rinse after using any tobacco product.

You can use ice to help reduce the swelling of the initial piercing.  If the piercing should bleed for more than 1 or 2 days try holding tea in your mouth.

Your diet for the first week should consist mainly of soft foods and no spicy foods.  DO NOT EAT: Italian, Mexican, BBQ, or other Spiced foods.

Note: If you suffer from cankar sores inquire about glyoxide for your piercing, glyoxide is sold at our shops at a reduced rate to you.

Please call skin illustrations if you have any questions.

Tongue Piercing Aftercare

Your piercing will form a crust on the jewelry.  Use an Anti-Bacterial Soap, such as DIAL or a non-perfumed soap such as IVORY to clean the piercing inside & out removing all the crust from the jewelry.  This is the easiest done by using your fingertips.  Rinse, pat dry & spray on the WITCH HAZEL let air dry.  Do Not use cotton swabs or cotton balls.

Repeat this procedure morning & night for 4 weeks.  At that time you do not need to use the WITCH HAZEL.  Continue to wash the piercing once a day.  Please keep the initial jewelry in for a minimum of 3 months.

DO NOT USE:  DOVE, IRISH SPRING, LEVER 2000

If you have any questions, please feel free to call us.  Do not take advice from your friends.
